OW2con'25 Best Project Awards Contest Results
Every year OW2 recognizes "best of breed" projects in its code base and successful implementations of OW2 technologies.
The 2025 OW2con Best Project Awards are open to all OW2 projects. This award is a unique opportunity for OW2 members to showcase their projects and for users to identify the best of OW2 community.
OW2 Best Project 2025 Award Contest Winners
The Jury selected the winners for each of the three awards as follows:

| CryptPad's community-driven approach and user innovation win the Technology Prize. It offers secure, end-to-end encrypted collaboration across platforms. The software has grown globally, including the UN's use of its forms for Open Source Principles. A 2025 milestone includes new Document editors supporting DOCX/ODT/PPTX/ODP files. CryptPad supports both hosted and self-hosted solutions with client-side encryption ensuring user data remains private. | Linphone is a comprehensive and secure unified communication platform integrating audio, video, instant messaging, and conferencing into one interface, fully relying on standard protocols. It evolved from a ''garage'' project into a revenue-driven company over 20 years, transforming into an intuitive consumer platform with advanced features and infrastructure (e.g., Flexisip servers). Initially catering to technical users, it now diversifies its target audience—SMEs, integrators, local authorities, and MSPs—to offer multiple hosting solutions, enabling tailored features and competitive alternatives. | LDAP Tool Box Service Desk is a web admin tool for LDAP directories, offering an open-source solution for standard OpenLDAP or Microsoft AD since version 0.6. It simplifies account management with a single-page interface, allowing users to unlock and reset passwords without privileged access. The project won the Technology Prize for its innovative approach to LDAP administration. PHP modules in the ltb-common library ensured compatibility with both systems, and current users appreciate its ease of use and ongoing contributions. Future enhancements include adding account creation/deletion and group membership features. |
