Abstract

How do we move from digital sovereignty to true technical autonomy? This interactive session brings together IT experts and OW2con'26 audience to explore open source as a path to digital freedom, the day-to-day challenges related to transparency, interoperability, and reversibility, and how resilience influences technological choices.

We want to look beyond the sovereignty buzz and better understand the articulation between digital sovereignty and technical independence, and/or the links between open source and sovereignty. The questions raised below could be a good start for an open discussion:

  • Working with open source solutions: does it systematically allow independence?
  • Reversibility issues, disaster and shutdown recovery
  • Is technology independence now a driver for software and infrastructure choices in small-size, mid-size and/or large organisations?

How to take part in the discussion?

Before the conference: if you have suggestions, questions, views that you would like to be discussed, please send it to us (event-team AT ow2.org).

During the conference: microphones will be passed around the audience.

A podcast will be made available after the event.
